Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about what Wrynkle does, and what it deliberately does not.

Does my parent need to install anything?

No. Your parent takes part entirely over WhatsApp. Only the organizer and invited relatives use the Wrynkle app.

What does my parent have to agree to?

Before anything is stored, Wrynkle sends one WhatsApp message on behalf of your family explaining what it does. Your parent replies YES to agree or STOP to decline. They can reply STOP at any time later and Wrynkle stops immediately.

Is Wrynkle a medical or emergency service?

No. Wrynkle helps a family remember and coordinate. It does not give medical advice, detect falls, or contact emergency services. A help request notifies family members who chose to receive alerts; an acknowledgement means a family member responded, not that anyone is safe.

Which languages are supported?

Voice notes in Malayalam, English or a mix of both are transcribed. The app interface is in English for now.

Who can see a voice note?

Only the people in the family circle whose access includes it. Organizers control access; relatives see what is shared with them. Wrynkle staff do not browse family content.

How long are recordings kept?

The original recording is kept for a short period so the family can listen and correct the transcript, then it is removed. Transcripts stay until the family deletes them. The exact retention period is stated in the Privacy Policy.

How much does it cost?

Wrynkle is free during early access. A paid Premium family plan may be offered later through the Apple and Google app stores. Privacy rights and deletion will never depend on paying.

How do I delete our data?

You can delete notes in the app, leave a circle, or ask for your account and family data to be deleted. See the Data deletion page for the steps.
